THE SECURITY STUDENT

STORY STORY.............! ONCE UPON A TIME.....????
On Thursday the 25th January 2017, waking up, thanking God and grumbling as well because of the workload one is faced with as a student at Pan Atlantic University. I have assignments and proposals to submit, and anxiety seems to be creeping in, hoping I can meet deadlines, tensed and confused on where to start. Finally, I decide to get a grip of myself, go to the library and start something.

I walked into the library and saw something I believe spoke to my very soul. A member of staff studying, not just any staff but ‘a security guard,’ Yes...  I removed my glasses just to be certain I wasn’t going color blind, just in case I was confusing uniforms.

Engrossed with what he was studying, I quickly ran downstairs to get a camera and capture, “seeing is believing” right?  Unknown to him, I stood behind taking pictures of him, I could see the enthusiasm as he had written loads of jottings and did not  realize I had been standing behind him.

Then I asked myself, ‘this man for sure should have a family, he sure has a job, and I’m certain he had other duties to fulfil, and yet, he found time to sit on a computer to study. Probably he wasn’t given the opportunity I have today, but yet, he found time to study, and I dare to grumble?’ At my young age!

Indeed, there is no age or time limit to learning. Don’t think it is too late to learn, because of your age, or your time schedule. If you believe it, focus your mind on it, you can learn. Every living soul has been given the gift of same ‘time’ and ‘brain’ by God. What you use it for is the beauty of the gift.

Moral Lesson

1.     Anyone can be who they want to be, no matter the age and workload, if only you set your mind to it.

2.     Wherever you find yourself, always take advantage of anything that would add to your knowledge.
