THE FT9 WEEKLY SCOOP (FWS EPISODE 1)

This holiday felt like a sleepover as it ended even before it began. Don’t get me wrong; three weeks packed with several PAU branded assignments is like watching all nine seasons of Jack Bauer’s 24 series in 24 hours. First day of resumption swung by and fast with everyone looking their best and well prepared for the Momoh-day. After endless circulations of sweet wishes for the New Year, FT9 settled down for some theoretical perspectives.

Everyone was stunned when the highly intellectual but funny Dr. Momoh asked us to prepare for a test while drafting a paper on African Proverbs from a theoretical perspective in communication but the question itself is on another level. From what I hear, it is better to know what Speech Act theory, Relevance theory and Cultural imperialism theory means and its relationship with Proverbs (please not the one in the Bible o but you can be creative with it). Moving on, Uchechi and the rest gave us an insight to their project ...risky business (pray someone does not like your topic better than you), for it is stated in the FT9 bible book of Tobi Chapter January vs 13th, "You are liable for the information you share about your project and the consequences which comes after." I shall say no further. Ehennn before I forget, Moyo's birthday was lit, the cake was awesome, shout out to everyone that turned up and to Mrs Chinyere for the special contribution.

In other news, it is only when you come to PAU that you will realize your writing suffers an organization deficiency and your punctuation skill need a check-up in the Obiaya grammar clinic; Yes, I did not mince my words. That was how I was diagnosed with a Parts of speech syndrome and prescribed with a daily dosage of some prepositions, conjunctions and modifiers to complement my lack of knowledge. Even Fadekemi could not escape the throes of the English saga on that hilarious Wednesday; imagine adding an Ibo vibe to a unique English word “UTI-litarianism”. If I were honest, only the delectable Fadekemi Jegede could pull that off, literally revealing that Dr. Okpara could, indeed, have a sense of humor. The ethical woman broke her own ethical code in a continual outburst of laughter. Also, Desola gave an impeccable presentation on product placement and left some people (myself inclusive) searching for a new Marketing and Advertising topic ...God dey sha.

To those who dropped courses in light of the new PAU grading system, I know it was not an easy decision and even when there might possibly be some regrets, there is always a positive side and if I had to be naughty; those of y’all who dropped graphics missed the real fun, I mean who wouldn’t love Mr. Ken? Trust me, those who know Barrister Tomi can still relate. Miss Amina, welcome to the club. If you also missed out on Dr. Silk’s inspirational gist, the headline remains even a failed attempt is a success, always make sure you keep trying and the only true loser is the one who gave up. To my ever brave Brand strategists, kudos to the effort and courage on the GTcrea8 struggle. I bet we can finally close that Chapter (Of course, until the results are out).

Until next weekend sha, remember i will be gathering scoops oh.

Love sincerely,

Veena.
